SECOND SECTION
Application no. 67626/13
Iurie MOROZAN
against the Republic of Moldova
lodged on 10 October 2013
SUBJECT MATTER OF THE CASE
The application concerns the applicant’s detention in pre-trial detention for more than two years before his conviction for murder. He complains under Article 5 §§ 1 and 3 of the Convention that his detention was not lawful under domestic law, that it was too long and not based on relevant and sufficient reasons. Since the applicant’s detention was longer than twelve months, the case raises issues which resemble those examined in Savca v. the Republic of Moldova, no. 17963/08, 15 March 2016.
QUESTION tO THE PARTIES
Was the applicant deprived of his liberty during his pre-trial detention in breach of Article 5 § 1 of the Convention (see Savca v. the Republic of Moldova, no. 17963/08, 15 March 2016)?
