Having regard to the above application lodged on 26 August 2020,

FACTS AND PROCEDURE
The applicant, Ms Gunel Maharram gizi Safarova, was born in 1980.
The applicant was represented, as a principal representative, by Mr K. Bagirov, a lawyer based in Baku.
The applicant’s complaint under Article 3 of Protocol No. 1 of the Convention concerning the alleged breach of her right to stand as a candidate in parliamentary elections was communicated to the Azerbaijani Government (“the Government”). A complaint based on the same facts was also communicated under Article 13 of the Convention.
On 18 July 2023 the applicant informed the Registry that she wanted to withdraw the application to the Court.
THE LAW
In the light of the foregoing, the Court concludes that the applicant may be regarded as no longer wishing to pursue the application (Article 37 § 1 (a) of the Convention). Furthermore, in accordance with Article 37 § 1 in fine, the Court finds no special circumstances regarding respect for human rights as defined in the Convention and the Protocols thereto which require the continued examination of the application.
Accordingly, the case should be struck out of the list.
For these reasons, the Court, unanimously,
Decides to strike the application out of its list of cases.
Done in English and notified in writing on 11 April 2024.
